Ares Armor Effin-A Review
Traditionally I haven’t been a huge fan of muzzle devices, usually opting for a simple birdcage or phantom. There are a lot of products out there that don’t offer significant advantage while taking a serious chunk out of your wallet. Some devices perform well, and also take a serious investment. This however, is better than both of those options.

IO AK-47 Base Builds
Things are picking up!
I am about to start building our first total flattop “Main Battle Rifle” AK, designed to be used with AR style backup sights and optics. I’ll do a preliminary build report soon with more details but for right now, I want to talk about the base gun we’ll be using.
Coming soon – EFFIN-A from Ares Armor
Ares has come up with a unique tuneable compensator for the AK-47 and AR platform rifles. I’m working in the shop today and am finally able to install it. Its beefy and a big chunk of solid metal, with closeable gas ports all around, we’re pretty excited to get out and shoot and see how well it does.
Chicks dig SCARs
This Saturday we had the opportunity to spend a little time with a friend’s new Fabrique Nationale SCAR 17S—the civilian-legal version of the SCAR-H—in 7.62×51 NATO. On days like that, it pays to be the only one of your friends with a shooting range in your back yard. We had a few hours to try it out, enough time to form a very positive opinion.
