We recently hosted a fall shoot as a joint operation between Down Range Firearms Training and Snake Hound Machine. We had machine guns, suppressors, and various other class 3 weapons as well as workshops and team drills. With guests from all over New England and over 30 attendees the range was busy and everyone had a great time.
We are already in the works planning a spring event for early 2013 with longer hours, more instructors, competitions, and workshops. Stay tuned for details!
The UBR, or Ultimate Battle Rifle is a concept that I’ve been kicking around for a long time. Something that I would design, scratch out, then design again as I found new parts that I thought would work better than what I had already picked out.
A recent custom build for a customer, this gun consisted mainly of an Ultimak Gas Tube Rail and Extended Handguard, mated with a US Palm AKBG Grip and Magpul ACS Stock. Custom short reset trigger group and oversized bolt knob mated with hand polishing the internals and improving the sights ensure reliability and performance. This is designed to be used with a cowitness Aimpoint T1 Micro. The bore axis aligned stock combined with the Effin-A compensator greatly reduces recoil. This rifle kicks about as much as an AR, if not less.
Guns.com has a great article about a ‘new’ Saiga 12 model, and while it is new to Izhmazh, it’s definitely nothing new to American shooters.
